Permanent Shade Structures Needed at Joe Station Dog Park

WE NEED $2400 FOR TWO PERMANENT SHADE STRUCTURES AT JOE STATION!!

Recently we were approached by Ben Perrault, an applicant for the rank of Eagle Scout about suggestions for capital improvements at Joe station which he might do as a leadership project. With our irrigation system nearly complete, our highest priority needs are permanent shade structures to be located in the outfield. We suggested this to him and quickly responded and began research.

Ben has designed two such structures which have been enthusiastically approved by park volunteers, Park and Recreation staff, and other city departments. Now we need to raise $2400 to purchase the materials so Ben and his fellow scouts can get them constructed for the benefit of the people and dogs who enjoy our park.

As an incentive to potential donors, QuikTrip Corporation has donated bottled water, soft drinks and ice which have been placed near the donation boxes in the park. Visitors are encouraged to make donations there and receive a cold drink, courtesy of QuikTrip.

Of course tax deductible credit card contributions can be made through our website, tulsabarkpark.com and checks made be mailed to the Bark Park Fund, Tulsa Community Foundation, 7030 S. Yale Suite 600, Tulsa OK 74136.

THE DAYS ARE GETTING HOTTER AND LONGER, SO PLEASE DONATE GENEROUSLY AND QUICKLY SO WE ALL CAN BEGIN BENEFITING FROM THE NEW SHADE STRUCTURES!! THANK YOU.

Also, please forward this email to others who might contribute to this effort.

Wheels of Hope needs Volunteer Drivers

The Oklahoma Alliance for Animals has just successfully completed their fund raising project to purchase a cargo van to be used to rescue and transport animals in need of assistance.

The maiden trip for the van, named Wheels of Hope, was Tuesday night, May 26th, from the Tulsa Animal Shelter to the Dumb Friends League in Denver with 17 dogs on board.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The Tulsa Animal Shelter has made arrangements for Denver to accept a load of animals the 3rd Wednesday of each month beginning in June.  We desperately need volunteer drivers to transport the animals…two for each trip.  This involves driving all night Tuesday, leaving the Tulsa Shelter around 10:00 PM and arriving in Denver to unload around  9:00 AM Wednesday.

OAA will pay the expenses of these trips - thanks to the kind offer of a volunteer.

Please e-mail Mike & Kathy Nobles at nwanc@worldnet.att.net  if you are interested in volunteering for this vital need or if you need more information.

As always, we so appreciate your kind help and assistance.  Your caring means so much to the animals, many of whom have not had much kindness in their lives.
