Fur Ball 2009

Tulsa area pet lovers flocked to the Crowne Plaza hotel in downtown Tulsa the evening of November 7th to attend the fifth annual Fur Ball, sponsored by the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals.

A grand time was had by all as guests dined on hor d’oeuvres and sipped champagne while perusing upscale silent auction items up for bid.   The presentations were held over dinner with awards given to the Ward Wiseman Animal Haven for Making a Difference in 2009 and an Advocate in Action award given to Claudette Selph.   A live auction was held at the end of the evening, and the January 2010 cover of TulsaPets Magazine was last on the auction block.   The cover raised a whopping $3,050 with proceeds going to the Alliance for Animals.  The winning bidder will have his/her pet featured on the January 2010 cover of TulsaPets Magazine.

Hamalot Pig Rescue is Sowing Quilts

The seamstress that made the pictured quilt will also take orders for pig/dog/butterfly blankets at $75 each with $25 donated to the rescue, shipping is about $9.00. No two blankets will be the same but can be gender specific (ie: primarily blues, pinks, or purples, etc)

The entire blanket is made of new flannel fabric with a thin batting in the middle.  The back is solid bright pink, same color as the nose.  Approximate dimensions: 49″ x 57″ which is from ears to toes and arm to arm at the widest points.  Launders well with a tad bit of vinegar in water to keep colors crisp and bright.
